Despite the challenges imposed by an indifferent weather forecast we managed to stage a successful show. Flower and Produce Show entries were down on last year and we attribute a lot of this to the strange weather we have had See the review here.
The Children's craft competition was well supported with some beautiful entries giving a fantastic display of talent from our local youngsters
We had a slightly reduced schedule in the arena this year, but the new innovation to bring the Carnival into the Arena was a great success and gave the show a flying start. There was some fine shows by the K9 Dog Dancing Team and Adams Axemen and the Tug of War was a great success with 4 teams taking part. The honours finally went to the Cross Keys so congratulatiuon to them.
Our thanks to all the residents of Wanborough and surrounding villages for braving the weather again and attending in large numbers. We rely on your support in order to stage the show year on year. Without you our fine tradition would be lost.
See you all next year The Wanborough Show Team |

I hope you all enjoyed the music at the show this year, we certainly did. If you are looking for music for your event, then the Cheesehouse Band may be just the flavour you require.
- an eclectic mix of music developed reflecting the predilections of the band members, from Dylan and the Eagles to Crowded House and Green Day.
- original songs and tunes emerged packaged as fresh cheese.
From Caerphilly to Wensleydale, the mature Cheese House Band is now riper than Camembert, creamier than Brie, nuttier than Cheddar but ultimately, easy on the palate.
If you are interested in booking the Cheesehouse Band. Contact us and we'll put you in touch. |

The Jack Smith Memorial Trophy was awarded this year to Gary Caswell. Gary has been a staunch supporter of the show for many years, always on hand with bales and tractors for the show itself and providing tractors and trailers to the carnival entrants. This award is in recognition of his selfless and continuing supportĀ for the show and to show our gratitude for that support. (Picture courtousey Photodreams Ltd and FLIC Wiltshire)

Wanborough Show is a small country show. It is a one day event, bigger than a village fete, but small enough not to lose its intimacy, unlike some of the larger events in the area.
Located in the village of Wanborough just 1.5 miles from J15 of the M4, 5 miles from the centre of Swindon and amid a cluster of villages on the edge of the Wiltshire downs, it is easily accessible for many people.

The Show is organised by a committee of volunteers on a 'not-for-profit' basis. All charges for commercial stands, at the gate and other money raised is used to cover the costs of staging the event. Any surplus funds at the end of the year are distributed to local organisations and worthy causes. |
